May 15th through September 20th: “Power of Wind” Art Exhibit

Kregel Windmill Factory Museum

The Power of Wind art exhibit is special exhibit of original art. At the Power of Wind art show there were over 225 art entries from 18 different countries. The Power of Wind art exhibit showcases some of the winning entries from the art show. Art pieces with a wind power theme included posters, paintings, photographs, illustrations, photographs, sculptures, original stories, poems, and more.

We are also accepting entries at the Kregel Windmill Factory Museum anytime before the 2nd Power of Wind art show next Earth Day through Arbor Day weekend. May 31st & June 1st, 8:30am-3:30pm: Water Topics for Nebraska Teachers Workshop

Kimmel Education & Research Center

The Kregel Windmill Factory Museum, in conjunction with the Kimmel Foundation, American Groundwater Trust, Groundwater Foundation, and Water for Food Institute, is hosting a teacher’s professional development workshop on the topics of Nebraska groundwater, natural resources, and conservation. This workshop will qualify for professional development credit. The workshop will feature a number of presenters on various topics related to groundwater, demonstrations of classroom materials available from the museum, and tours of the Nebraska City Water Treatment Plants. June 21st through 24th, 10am-5pm: Chautauqua Living History Festival

Kregel Windmill Factory Museum

In celebration of the 2017 Chautauqua, presented by Humanities Nebraska, the museum will feature a special exhibit relating to this year’s theme, World War I: Legacies of a Forgotten War, as well as various other activities in the museum. The Nebraska Chautauqua offers opportunities for audiences to come together to develop a fuller understanding of the lasting influences of the Great War.


August 19th, 10am-5pm: Kregel Windmill Company Founders Day Celebration

Silent Auction at Kregel Windmill Factory Museum

The Kregel Windmill Company was incorporated on August 19th, 1879, and in celebration of that date and the company the museum has created this annual event. This year’s event will feature a Silent Auction to benefit the operation of the museum as well as a lunch reception with food and refreshments. A full list of auction items will be available shortly.


September 19th, 7pm: Kregel Museum Fall Speaker Series, Part 1

During Saturday of Applejack Festival, KWFM Front Lobby

The Kregel Museum Fall Speaker Series is an annual, three-part program featuring presenters once a month on a variety of topics related to the museum’s mission. Every lecture is different, so you are sure to find a subject that interests you! Each speaker event is free to the public with a reception preceding it. Speakers will be announced for each event at least two months in advance.


October and November: Kregel Museum Speaker Series, part 2 & 3

December 9th, noon-5pm: Holiday Silent Auction

The Kregel Museum Holiday Silent Auction is an annual event featuring a special exhibit and a lunch reception. Auction items will be announced prior to the event.
